Presentation Title: “Behaviors in the Workplace: Finding Root Cause in Employee Investigation & Issue Resolution”

Presented by: Jason Glass, SHRM-SCP | State Director for the Iowa SHRM Council

Presentation Overview: As HR Professionals, we are tasked with being involved in some of the most difficult workplace issues, including involuntary departures. In fact, it’s often what we are most known for, for better or worse. This session will provide not only practical tips on these actions but take a positive look at the important role HR plays in assuring people are treated respectfully. We will help to overcome the stigma of these conversations, discuss the importance of them on your culture and why you should embrace them as a critical part of your importance to the organization.

Attendees of this presentation will learn:

    • Why departures have such an impact on organizational culture
    • Practical instructions on delivering a termination message to an employee
    • Common mistakes leaders and HR make in this process and ways to avoid them
    • A message of hope and encouragement for HR Professionals in their role in these organizational actions
