    “Competitive & Effective Compensation Strategies”

    Presented by: Kevin M. Paulsen, Principal, Newport Group

    During this presentation, Mr. Paulsen will identify the most effective techniques to help an organization attract, retain and motivate top employees while ensuring the effectiveness of total compensation in an organization.  The latest data will be provided to confirm competitive amounts and trends in the marketplace.  Specific approaches and proven techniques with short-term and long-term incentives will be presented that drive improved individual performance and overall profitability. 

                                          In this presentation attendees will learn about:

    • Various types of compensation programs increasingly used to maintain internal and external equity
    • Methods that better align individual pay and performance and  methods that focus and reward employees for top performance
    • Incentives that encourage and reward for both short and long-term results
    • Approaches that maintain market-based compensation programs

    Speaker’s Background & Experience:  

    Kevin is a Principal at Newport Group. His specialty areas include wage and incentive system design; compensation survey development and administration; compensation studies and surveys; organizational planning; performance management design; leadership assessment and development.  A consultant since 1987, Kevin has assisted hundreds of companies from smaller businesses to global organizations in the financial services, manufacturing, higher education, not-for-profit, and construction industries.  He has authored articles appearing in HR Magazine and WorldatWork while presenting at many HR and trade conferences across the Midwest.
