Drug Trends Affecting Southeast Iowa Employers
Presented by Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force Members:
Detective Dave Hamma, Des Moines Co Sheriffs Office
Detective Rob Rohrer, Burlington Police Department
Detective LaTron Covert, Burlington Police Department
Detectives with The Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force (SEINT) will discuss local drug trends in and around the Des Moines County area. They will have illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia on display, so as MVHRA members can learn through a more hands on approach.
Valuable information will be shared on the devastating effects that illegal drug use has on employees and the community. The Task Force will explain techniques that organizations can use to identify employees with substance abuse problems, as well as the latest drugs and drug paraphernalia that is being seen locally.
SEINT is comprised of three law enforcement entities in Des Moines County Iowa. There are a total of three detectives and one commander to oversee the day-to-day activities. The SEINT detectives have all been trained by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Basic Narcotic Investigators School, as well as certified in Clandestine Laboratory Investigations. The three detectives have a total of over 20 years in law enforcement experience and have attended multiple interdiction and interview training programs that allow them to effectively take down larger drug organizations.
