Workplace Lean – Applying Lean Tools & Principles to Information and Office Processes

    Presented by Susan Dunek

SCC’s Director of the Iowa Advanced Manufacturing initiative

Susan Dunek has been training and consulting in lean tools and principles for over a decade. Her contributions to lean education include instructional design for six concept level courses and participation developing the suite of workplacelean ® training products. She was instrumental in the development of Southeastern Community College’s (SCC’s) Certified Professional Lean Practitioner program and is currently serving as SCC’s Director of the Iowa Advanced Manufacturing initiative.

Susan is a certified Master Trainer and has completed graduate studies in instruction methods and curriculum development.

Susan will introduce MVHRA members to the importance of lean tools and principles to information and office processes. The lean philosophy, commonly linked with manufacturing processes, is entirely applicable to “front office” work processes. A simple simulation will illustrate the benefits and attendees will complete a worksheet to identify “low hanging fruit.”

By attending Susan’s presentation, MVHRA members will learn how identification and reduction of non-valued added activities can improve work processes and reduce errors.
