    “Cyber Security in the 21st Century”

    Presented by: Roger Shindell, M.S., CHPS, CISA, CIPM

    During this presentation, Mr. Shindell will discuss Cyber Security as a part of an organizations’ privacy and security program.  He will explain what items to watch for in an organization to ensure records that should be kept private and secure are not accessed, stolen, or locked by unauthorized individuals. 

    In this presentation attendees will learn about:

    • The different types of attacks that they should be assessing for
    • Where the vulnerabilities are
    • What they can do in their organizations to ensure security
    • How to implement an adequate privacy and security program for employee personnel records as well as other business documents and records.

    Speaker’s Background & Experience:  

    Roger Shindell, M.S., CHPS, CISA, CIPM is a founder and the CEO of Carosh Compliance Solutions, which specializes in HIPAA, and other privacy and security regulation, compliance for small to mid-size practices and their business associates.

    He is a member of AHIMA’s privacy and security council, a board member of Indiana HIMSS, and the past -chair of the HIMSS Risk Assessment Work Group.   Roger has over 30 years’ multidisciplinary experience in healthcare, the founder of two medical device companies and has served as an advisor or principal in a number of healthcare, technology and service companies.

    Roger is a former columnist and member of the editorial board for HCPro’s Briefings on HIPAA and is currently a columnist and a member of the editorial advisory board of HMP Communications’ Today’s Wound Clinic.  Roger is a prolific author and columnist for a variety of professional journals and a speaker at diverse industry and association conferences, ranging from the National Association of Occupational Therapy, through state chapters of the Health Information Management Systems Society and the Medical Group Management Association, to the Cambridge Healthtech Institute, among others.
