“HR Analytics: What to know and what to do”

Presented by: Jennifer Palar, PhD, MOL, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Assistant Professor of Management at St. Ambrose University

During this presentation, Dr. Jennifer Palar will lead a business analytics program designed to challenge participants’ critical thinking and strategic planning skills in two parts.  The primary focus of the first part of the program will be largely on overall organization strategy through integration of multiple departments’ impact on human capital and other business outcomes. The second part of the program will be quantitative in nature and upon completion of this program participants should be able to offer analytical support in the decision-making process related to budgeting, human capital planning, and other strategic initiatives.

In this presentation attendees will learn how to:

    • Identifying appropriate questions to be informed by data
    • Gather (a) appropriate data through (b) collections methods
    • Use statistics to analyze HR data
    • Interpret data analysis results
    • Tie results to answer business & HR questions
