    “Mental Health in the Workplace”

    Presented by: Shauna J. Freitag, MSW, Young House Family Services

    During the session, Shauna will be presenting on “Mental Health in the Workplace.” Shauna will provide an overview of common mental health conditions found in the workplace, in addition to providing several techniques and strategies to create an organizational culture that promotes mental health and mindfulness for employees which leads to higher job productivity, job satisfaction and well-being. Lastly, Shauna will provide resources that are available to employers who may have employees who are struggling with mental health conditions in the workplace.

    After participating in this session, attendees will:

    • Identify the leading mental health conditions in the workplace.

    • Learn techniques and strategies that can promote positive mental health in the workplace.

    • Identify resources available to employers who recognize mental health issues in the workplace.

    Speaker’s Background & Experience: Shauna Freitag is the Executive Director of Young House Family Services. Shauna obtained her Master of Social Work Degree from St. Ambrose University with an emphasis on social work administration and has been employed with Young House Family Services for 14 years. She has more than 20 years of experience working in the behavioral health and mental health field. Shauna has worked in a variety of behavioral health settings including group homes for adults with chronic mental health and developmental disabilities, a children’s foster group home and serves on a number of community boards and advocacy initiatives throughout the area and across the state of Iowa.
