“Developing Compensation Programs During Increased Minimum Wage Pressure”
Presented by: Tom Wardrip, Principal Consultant, Gallagher’s HR & Compensation Consulting
During this presentation, Mr. Wardrip will instruct attendees how to design a compensation philosophy and apply it through compensation program design. He will explain how the minimum wage movement can have lasting implications on an organization and how it must be modeled and analyzed to achieve meaningful results.
At the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Build an overarching Compensation Philosophy
- Understand basic compensation design to minimize pay equity concerns
- Understand potential strategies for updating required minimum wage changes
Speaker’s Background & Experience:
Tom Wardrip is a Principal Consultant with Gallagher’s Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice. Mr. Wardrip has comprehensive management experience in the service and health care managed services industries, and has extensive experience working with complex system integrations and multi-hospital organizations. During his time in the service industry, Tom was a part of growth organizations and participated in the rollout and management of new locations where his focus was hiring, training, and process improvement. His time in the managed services industry continued his focus as a turnaround specialist as he managed customer retention, contract negotiation, service improvement, training and development, hiring, and profitability enhancements.
Additionally, Tom specializes in compression analysis that focuses on equity in pay systems. Tom has presented on Developing Compensation Programs During Increased Minimum Wage Pressure, and has authored whitepapers on the topic. In addition to a strong background in compensation, Tom works with clients on disparate impact analysis, FLSA audits, job evaluation, workforce planning, performance management, rewards and recognition, and a variety of other human resources topics. Tom has provided compensation expertise in industries such as health care, financial services, life sciences, credit unions, social services, and waste management. Recently, Tom has successful completed projects for Tufts, Rush University Medical Center, and Peninsula Regional Health System.
Throughout his consulting career, his attention to detail, analytic approach, and vast industry knowledge has been an asset to the organization and provided clients with strategic solutions to meet their business objectives. Tom received his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Hospitality Management and his Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Sector and Entrepreneurship from DePaul University. Tom is certified as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) by WorldatWork.
