“What’s on Employee’s Minds: An Unmet Need Discussion and Employee Benefit Plan Benchmarks/Trends for 2022”
Presented by: Jim Green, Mercer Lead Consultant and Relationship Manager / Katie Konstanzer, Mercer Central Market Leader
Katie will lead a discussion on how you can optimize your employee value proposition (EVP) with critical insights into the unmet needs of your workforce. Unmet Needs Analysis the goal here is to help you understand what is most concerning to employees inside and outside of work so that any changes to total rewards offerings (benefits) align with what your people really care about now.
Jim will share newly released benchmarking data from Mercer’s annual National Survey of Employer Sponsored Health Plans 2021. He will share key findings and discuss how these trends are impact employee benefit plans locally, nationally, and regionally. In addition, a review of “COVID effect” hitting plans from many deferring medical care and what you should prepare for now.
Participants will:
- Be able to strategically evaluate your total rewards offerings and look for unmet employee needs
- Also leave the presentation with a point of view to discuss with your leadership current benefit offerings and if they comparable to benchmarks; you will have current insights on the cost implications to health and benefit plan spend from resources to hire, train, and retain workers
- Be armed with cost trends and levers that you can pull to flatten that trend.
Speaker’s Background & Experience:
Katie is the Central Market Leader for Mercer's Career Products, responsible for providing Mercer clients with Compensation, Digital HR Technology, and Mobility solutions. With a background in employee experience, she brings over 10 years of expertise within the employee engagement and recognition space. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the University of North Georgia.
Jim is part of the leadership team for Mercer Iowa. Jim serves as Lead Consultant and Relationship Manager on larger clients with complex structures and challenging strategic needs. His focus is on strategy and financial impact, including underwriting and cost projections, trend mitigation, employee engagement and communication strategies, health and wellness solutions, technology and benefit outsourcing options, and compliance support.
Jim is a Principal in Mercer’s Health & Benefits practice located in Des Moines. His career includes 20 years as a Human Resources consultant, and 8 years as a health underwriter for both managed care and PPO health plans. He is a licensed producer in all 50 states. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan and an MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
