Event Details

Erica Eikren, a licensed Iowa educator and dementia trained professional, manages all
Alzheimer’s Association programing and assists over 60 support groups around the
state to aid dementia caregivers. As a daughter of this disease, she helped to provide
care for her father, who had Parkinson’s and Dementia, and for her mother, who had
Vascular Dementia. Her goal is to spread awareness to all Iowans so that they know
how to reduce their risk for the disease, know how to detect the disease early, and
where to go for support and resources. But mostly, Erica loves supporting caregivers in
an effort to reduce their stress.

Erica will discuss the lates disease facts and figures, present the audience with
workplace statistics and assistance for employees and aid all in understanding how the
Alzheimer’s Association is here to help all impacted by the dementia. She will provide
some PDF handouts to the group via email that they can have handy when employees
need them.

Attendees will know where to find resources for those that need them. This includes our
Helpline, website, apps, and more.
