“Completing the Form I-9, DHS IMAGE Program”

Presented by: Brett Stanley, Special Agent

    Homeland Security Services

During this presentation MVHRA Members will learn about the following topics:

    • Properly complete the Form I-9 without common errors
    • Homeland Security Ice Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program
    • Form I-9 important dates: i.e. expiration, implementation & form completion requirements
    • Form I-9 Acceptable Documents (List A, B & C)

At the conclusion of this presentation attendees will: understand the purpose of the Form I-9 and how employers must verify the identity and employment authorization of each person they hire, complete and retain a Form I-9 for each employee, and refrain from discriminating against individuals on the basis of national origin or citizenship. Mr. Stanley will review the changes to the new form, which will now include some 'smart' error-checking features and several new structural changes which will be important for all employers to know and learn.
