    Presentation Title: “5 Strategies for Equitable, Inclusive Interviewing”

    Presentation Overview: Ms. Mercer leads interactive leadership training, with a focus on looking at HR practices through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In this interactive workshop, “5 Strategies for Equitable, Inclusive Interviewing,” participants will receive resources and tools to implement best practices for approaching interviewing from a place of collaboration, equity, and inclusion.

    Attendees of this presentation will:

    • Discuss why an equitable, inclusive approach to interviewing matters.
    • Identify best practices for inclusive interviewing.
    • Explore interviewing resources participants can implement right away.

    Speaker’s Background & Experience:

    Skye Mercer, MBA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is an Eastern Iowa, certified HR Consultant with over 20 years of experience, including both in-house and consultative HR experience. Skye has worked with multiple Iowa and multi-state organizations, including working as a Small Business Consultant with the Iowa Small Business Development Center.

    She has presented at the Iowa Employment Conference, the American Nonprofit Academy, The Nonprofit Show, various nonprofit conferences, and multiple SHRM area chapter meetings. She leads interactive leadership training all over the US. Skye is deeply passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion in her work, and approaches HR and leadership from a place of continuous learning, openness to different perspectives, and new and forward-thinking approaches to HR and organizational culture development.

    Skye is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is a Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She received her MBA from Arizona State University. Learn more about Skye at
